Tent or RV Camping: Which is Ideal for You?

When going on a camping trip, you need to plan a lot of things like your camping destination, things to bring, food to prepare, and activities to do. But one important dilemma that many campers face is whether to go tent or RV camping. Both options have their own pros and cons, that make it quite difficult for campers to make a choice.

If you find yourself asking the same thing, you will need to evaluate your needs, habits, plans, and preferences so you can make an informed choice. Here are some factors that can help you come up with a good decision.

Cost

When it comes to cost, the RV is obviously more expensive. The cheapest recreational vehicle in the market amounts to ,000 and the price can double or triple depending on the size, features, and amenities of the RV. On the other hand, the most expensive tent would only cost you 0. You do not have to be a math whiz to see how big the discrepancy is between these two things. Not to mention, other additional costs come with using an RV like fuel, gas, electricity, and so on. This is why, if money were a big concern for you, the tent would probably be the more practical choice.

Maintenance

Aside from being expensive, RVs are also high maintenance. You have to do regular inspection of the vehicle’s engine to ensure that it is kept in top condition. Tents, meanwhile, do not require too much maintenance. In fact, all you need to do to care for the tent is to clean it after every use, dry it completely before storing, and keep it in a safe place away from bugs, heat sources, and mildew.

Comfort and Convenience

While the tent has the edge over the RV in both cost and maintenance, the RV wins hands down when it comes to comfort and convenience. For one, you don’t have to worry about bringing too much or too little to your trip. You can bring as many as the RV can hold like cots for camping, sleeping bags, and so on. Not only that, sleeping will also be very comfortable inside the RV. Even if you bring portable cots for your tent camping trip, sleeping in the RV would still be much more relaxing.

Plans

Apart from the three factors mentioned above, you also have to consider your plans. If you plan to go on camping trips abroad, it doesn’t make sense to invest in an RV because you can’t bring it there. But if you only want to go on camping trip nearby, it’s all right to buy an RV.

Environment

Of course, you also have to think about the environment when making a choice. Tents are obviously the more earth-friendly option because they don’t use energy unlike the RV. If you value the environment more than your own comfort and convenience, the tent is the way to go.
Both tent and RV camping offers great opportunities for fun and enjoyment. Make sure you consider all these factors so you can make the right choice.

8月 31, 2007 · Posted in Hiking Trails · 3 Comments

McQuarrie Creek Hiking is a very popular hiking trail in the Greater Trail area. The easy to moderate hike can be accessed by driving up the road to the regional hospital in Trail BC. The hike is an easy route up and down the lush green surroundings in the McQuarrie Creek spring runoff gorge, and when you get to the top you can view the Greater Trail BC area and the lower Columbia River Valley as well as the mountain ranges and ski hills in the Rossland area. This 2 hour hike is a favorite of locals and tourists, and connects to hiking trails that head towards Sunningdale along the rock cliff bluffs. Bring water and have lunch at the viewpoint.

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup races at Windham Mountain in New York were the sixth and last stop on the season tour. in addition to the individual race winners, the overall season championships were up for grabs in downhill, four cross and cross country. Cross country mountain bike racers are built for speed and endurance. They also have to be smart, tactical competitors to come out on top. This is a marathon of a race over a course designed to fool, frustrate and exhaust the best in the world. Another RadXSports video with Tony Lanza.
