Tips To Make Your First RV Camping Trip A Success

Camping with an RV can be a wonderful get-away from the boring daily routine. It’s a good way to discover many interesting places around our great country. If you are adventurous and love to take off and drive wherever the road takes you, you never know what you will find.

If you have decided to buy your first camper or RV, take things slow. Shop around for one that is not too large or expensive. Find out as much as you can about your new purchase. Do some studying to learn how to hook up all electric running lights and connections on the camper and tow vehicle or the RV. Next take a few trial runs in city driving and highway driving to get the feel for handling your camper.

Take just a few days for your first camping trip. Whether you want to stay at one place or try a different place everyday, make sure that you are familiar with all water and electrical connections at each campsite. There are many campground guidebooks and RV directories. Have a plan as to where you are going beforehand. That could save you a lot of stress later.

Try to get to the campground before dark, so you can clearly see how each space is set up. Also, make note of shower and bathroom and general store locations. Check into the office and find out about all their rules and regulations. Ask them if you can register for one night and then add another night for the next day if you decide to stay. This way you will be able to leave the next morning if this place does not work for you. Even if you will not be able to stay for another day for whatever reason, at least you will know if this place is a good or bad destination for you.

If you are planning to spend a long time at one place and use it as a base from which to visit many attractions in the area, you would be wise to learn everything you can about it. Even if it has a really good discount offer, it may not be worth it if you are having a terrible time there.

No matter what time of year it is, there are always good campgrounds all around the whole country. As we are moving into late fall and winter now, this may be the best time to take a trip. It will cooler up here in the north but warmer as you head south. There will probably be smaller crowds also.

Do your homework first and you can expect to have a great time with many happy memories of your first RV camping trip.

RV Camping In Dalhart – Expect Unlimited Excitement

RV Camping In Dalhart – Expect Unlimited Excitement

Texas, USA is not well known for its modesty, especially the small town of Dalhart, Texas. Its location can be found near the old historic location of the XIT Ranch, a great area for stopping off after a long cross country road trip, for anyone going on their way to the Rockies during a lot hot summer for fun, and it is known as the site for the annual XIT Rodeo and Reunion. Enjoying the delights of RV Camping Dalhart TX is an absolute breeze if you use your common sense and by following the basics to RVing.

Coming along to RV Camping Dalhart TX should be a trip that is well planned ahead of arriving in this town. You may have decided to come to the Yearly XIT Rodeo, so this will be easy enough for you to arrange your journey and the accommodation. If you are planning to stay here for other reasons, you will need to evaluate and look at your options for your stay. If you plan this location as just a pit stop on your way to another place, you may want to stop at Dalhart’s Walmart for a night of boondocking, which may be just what you’re after. If your tastes are different you can look at other campgrounds available in the area which should meet the requirements of any RVer. Campgrounds in the local area include the Corral, El Highway 54 and Sunset Village. Look at the dates you are travelling and book ahead with a reservation.

If you plan on coming to RV Camping Dalhart TX for the XIT Rodeo and Reunion, then some more detailed planning will be necessary. If you are not sure what the XIT Rodeo you will need to do your research to find out if this is just for you and your family. The name is to honour the XIT ranch which was in payment as a land grant and accepted by the men of 3,000,000 acres, for constructing the Texas State Capitol Building. Texas is well known for holding the XIT Rodeo and Reunion. People flock in from all over to compete in the events that take place over two weeks, and to watch. You’ll be amazed at some of the events including bareback riders and a bull rider – watching them do their thing is just mindblowing and exciting. Schedules of the event are released well in advance before the annual rodeo and can be accessed via the web if you live outside the state.

Whilst you are here, you should check out the famous XIT Museum, part of the history and heritage of the Dallam-Hartley Counties area. There are many exhibits to be found here that are temporary, travelling or permanent fixtures giving a perspective of the local culture and history. There is a quaint wedding chapel on the site which is open for rental and use for a small wedding. There also collections on the ranch sites with the branding and firearms that were used by the ranch hands. It makes for an interesting visit, and is worth checking out.
